Nick T. Thomopoulos
Nick Thomopoulos is Professor Emeritus at the Stuart School of Business.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Thomopoulos worked for International Harvester and rose to the position of supervisor of operations research for corporate headquarters. He also worked as a senior scientist at Illinois Tech Research Institute (IITRI), and served on the faculty in Illinois Tech's Industrial Engineering Department, which became part of the business school in 1980.
He is the author of ten books: Assembly Line Systems (Hayden); Applied Forecasting Methods (Prentice Hall); Inventory Management and Planning (Hitchcock); Fundamentals of Queuing Systems (Springer); Fundamentals of Production, Inventory and the Supply Chain (Springer); Essentials of Monte Carlo Simulation (Springer); Assembly Line Planning and Control (Springer); Demand Forecasting for Inventory Control (Springer); and 100 Years, From Greece to Chicago and Back (Xlibris); Elements of Manufacturing, Distribution and Logistics (Springer).
